Rose-Rayne, tell us about your experience here on deviantART.
It's a great community of artists. I have tons of fun here and I've learned a lot and of course, I've made some very wonderful friends!

What made you decide to become a user of this community?
Way back in 04, a friend and I would send each other cute pictures to put on our backgrounds or journals, one of the pictures had a tag with their deviantART name on it so I went and visited the website. The artist was auroreblackcat and well the deviation isn't in her gallery anymore but she's still an artist I like.

I signed up to comment and then would get pictures from here but I didn't become active here til 06-07.

Do you think that joining deviantART has helped you with your artwork? If so, would you explain how?
Absolutely! OMG, so absolutely. If you could see my artwork from 03 (which you can in my improvement meme) it sucked. When I started becoming more active here, I started asking for help. I got suggested tutorials and I was also told to study anatomy. And they did indeed help. I also started drawing more because of PotterShare and collabs and people who asked me to draw stuff for them.

How would you describe your work?
A work in progress as I don't think I've made a piece yet that couldn't use some more work on it. But mainly it falls somewhere between cute and entertaining?

How much have you improved since your first deviation? (Show us your first and latest!)

I've improved totally and completely.

Like it's light years between the two. I've been looking through my old devs and part of me wants to delete them but I think showing the progress is important.

Well my latest one is just a doodle but you can still see some improvement.

What is your main inspiration source?
Other artists and books! When I see a really great piece of art, I experience I guess you could call it "art envy." Which pushes me to try even harder.

As for books, well I LOVE to read. Seriously. I carry a book with me everywhere. Another reason I wish I was a better artist is that so I could show my appreciation and draw scenes from some of the fabulous books I read.

So basically burdge as she's an awesome artist who does scenes from books I love. xD

What are your favourite artists on dA? Did they ever gave you useful advice?
I have many favorite artists. I'll just mention my oldest and still active ones.

of course. As a Disney fantard, briannacherrygarcia is definitely on the list. And she's always answered a question if I asked her one. Like if I could use her flickr photos as refs or what she uses to draw.

There's something about her art that I really love. I think it's the sense of movement in her art that I love a lot. She did give me advice about poses once and her FAQ is helpful.

Duh. She's a huge source of inspiration.

Are you on other art sites?
I have a conceptart.org account but I use that mainly to stare at awesome artists. I'm a bit nervous to post my art there. One day, though, one day.

Did you ever had any of your works published in a magazine, or featured in your country?
I wish! :3

Are there other platforms you would like to learn?
Flash animations and traditional animations, if that's what you mean. I'd like to bring my art to life if you get me.
